Spin Classes-Shed Style

There are no less than a dozen outlets in Vernon where you can go to perspire and work your butt off on a stationary bike to nowhere, or join guys wearing tooo tight pants riding in a line on $10k bikes to a roadside coffee shop.... OR

You could ride your bike over to Men's Shed Vernon like one of our own "spinners".
Joe LaChance is spinning yet another creative creation to show off our many talents for the Artwalk event in Lake Country in September. Stop by to see what is taking shape when the RPMs drop for a peek. Phil L came in later to see if he could rescue some wobbly wood by spinning a bespoke flour scoop. Yours truly even took a turn with the chisel with a simple key chain made from the scrap bin.
But Wait... What if you made the spinning device itself?

Now THAT redefines mastery. Our own Harold Haynes has an inventor's mind combined with decades of experience in making something from nothing (ex Nehilo) in far flung places.
A local non profit friend came to Men's Shed Vernon with a request to build them a pallet spinner for wrapping pallets of product weighing a tonne. They couldn't afford to buy a new one.
Harold, along with the help of several Shedders are knee deep in the design and build of the pallet spinner. Stop by if you'd like to participate in a spin class like no other in the North Okanagan.
Isn't the Men's Shed something special? When I think of all the opportunities to creatively give back, it makes my head spin.
I like the “spin” you put on this article.
